Foundation Gives to Local Scholarship Fund

The Union Bank Foundation donated $5,000 to the scholarship program at Cal State San Bernardino's Palm Desert campus, a college spokesman said.

Students at will benefit from a $5,000 donation from the Union Bank Foundation.

The San Francisco-based bank's foundation has donated more than $55,000 for scholarship funds at the campus, according to CSUSB Palm Desert spokesman Mike Singer.

"The bank is particularly interested in donations and sponsorships that support low-income populations and promote and enhance diversity,'' he said.

Cal State San Bernardino offers more than 200 on- and off-campus scholarships totaling more than $2 million annually, according to the university's website.

Students can apply through the financial aid office.
