The Mission of Marquee Academy of Performing Arts is to provide an educational environment that fosters the artistic growth of its students, resourcing the support and involvement of local, regional and national artists and patrons of the arts.

To Achieve This Mission:

•  MAPA will create an educational environment that fosters the artistic, intellectual, and personal growth of its students and prepares them to embark on successful careers and productive lives as artists and citizens,

• MAPA will ensure all who wish to learn the art and skill of creating music have the opportunity to pursue their dream, and ensure that financial considerations or prior musical training are not a deterrent to their enrollment;

•  MAPA will uphold its commitment to the diversity of its community by fostering an environment that is inclusive, supportive, and welcoming to all,

• MAPA is committed to serving the entire Coachella Valley,

• MAPA will take an active role in the community, by providing exemplary arts education programs and performance venue, and encouraging its students to serve as advocates for the arts in society. A society where the joy of making music is an integral part of the soundtrack of life. A world in which future generations exercise their choice to passionately defend and promote the beauty and brilliance of the arts.

Program Description

MARQUEE ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS (MAPA) is here to enrich and change our community through music, affecting people of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life. We are on a mission to transform lives through music.

MAPA IS A NON-PROFIT MUSIC SCHOOL dedicated to bringing all aspects of the musical experience to our community. At MAPA, students will be surrounded by a supportive circle of artists, who have a love and knowledge of the arts and most importantly, a deep desire to teach their craft to the next generation.

Within the confines of a nurturing environment, students are able to experiment and work through the challenges of creating music in order to complete a project from beginning to end.

Throughout this process, children and youth see and hear the tangible results of their countless hours of practice and unwavering commitment to each diverse piece of music.

MAPA WAS FOUNDED IN THE BELIEF that children and youth can gain huge social benefits by playing music. We use music making to foster confidence, teamwork, pride and aspiration in the people taking part – and across their wider community.

Our programming is fully inclusive and offered to individuals without discrimination in terms of their prior musical training, or their ability to pay. MAPA levels the musical playing field for children of all socioeconomic backgrounds by ensuring that children from low-income communities receive the same introduction to and instruction in music that would be available to children of families with greater resources.

STUDENTS OF MUSIC GAIN VALUABLE LIFE LESSONS during the progression of their studies - determination, patience, dexterity, imagination and creativity.

The addition of music in the life of a child can quiet the echoing voices of adversity and peer pressure by providing a sanctuary filled with positive influences and the hope of a fulfilling and bright future.

MAPA strives to reach “at-risk” children and youth by using the power of sound to uplift the human situation by means of music education.
