PDCMS Fundraiser Sells Out

More and more educators are being pushed to raise funds to help keep up the level of services at their schools.

Nearly 200 Coachella Valley residents will attend an Oktoberfest and golf tournament at the Classic Club in Palm Desert Sunday to raise funds for , it was announced today.

The fundraiser, which sold out, will tea off at noon Oct. 2 followed by a dinner, and awards ceremony from 5 to 7:15 p.m., according to PDCMS Principal Sallie Fraser.

The PDCMS Foundation, which put on the event, hopes to raise $50,000 thanks to a matching grant of $25,000 from the Berger Foundation.

The money will be used to "provide software programs designed to help struggling students as well as added technology for all students," Fraser said.

Palm Desert Charter Middle School is home to approximately 1,300 sixth, seventh and eighth graders.
