PHOTOS: College of the Desert Honors Veterans

Though Veterans Day celebrations are wrapping up Monday night, we wanted to share some photos sent to us by College of the Desert of a local tribute.

On Thursday, the college hosted a ribbon cutting event for its new Bighorn Golf Club Charities Veterans Resource Center, and featured a special ceremony on the east lawn of the campus’s Cravens Student Services Center, 43-500 Monterey Avenue in Palm Desert.

"Through its Veterans Affairs Program, COD currently provides enrolled veterans and their dependants with access to an Admissions & Records Veterans Specialist, who gives information and guidance with regard to accessing military benefits for educational purposes and basic academic advisement with regard to degree and graduation requirements," the school touts.

Veterans Day was Nov. 11, but most businesses celebrated the day on Monday.
