Free Scholarship Workshop Scheduled at College of the Desert

The free workshop is set for Saturday May 17 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Multi-purpose Room of the Cravens Student Services Center on the Palm Desert Campus.

The following was submitted for publication by the College of the Desert: 

Do you know someone who is planning to go to college? Financial assistance is available. College of the Desert’s (COD) Counseling Department is holding a scholarship workshop for high school students and their parents, or anyone who plans to attend college.

 

You will learn about the system of finding scholarships and submitting winning applications in the three-hour workshop. Other topics presented include:  resources available, letters of recommendation, portfolio, personal essay and interviewing/accepting awards.

The workshop is set for Saturday May 17 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Multi-purpose Room of the Cravens Student Services Center on the Palm Desert Campus. COD Counselors Eve-Marie Andrews and Maria Herrera will present the materials necessary to obtain scholarships. The presentation will also be interpreted simultaneously in Spanish.
