Women's Club Supports Nursing Students

The funds were donated by the Palm Desert-Indian Wells Women's Club.

Funds donated by the Palm Desert-Indian Wells Women's Club have been awarded to four nursing students at .

Simona Campa of Rancho Mirage, Jennifer Jolene Cox of Desert Hot Springs, Twilla Oskey of La Quinta and Caren Vanderpool of Rancho Mirage will each receive a scholarship of over $1,000, according to university spokesman Mike Singer.

 Oskey, who just completed her first year at the Palm Desert Campus, said her academics are off to a first-rate start.

"The Palm Desert Campus offers one of the finest nursing programs in the country and I consider myself fortunate to be able to attend,” she said.

The Palm Desert-Indian Wells Woman’s Club is a social and philanthropic group of women who reside in the Coachella Valley.

One of their goals is to support nursing students at and the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus by having on-going fundraising events throughout the year, according to Singer.

They have been supporting nursing students at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus since 2006.

The CSUSB Palm Desert Campus offers two nursing programs –- a three-year bachelor of science degree in nursing (BSN) and a two-year RN to BSN program for current California-licensed registered nurses wishing to obtain a BSN, he said.
