BNP Paribas Open Boasts Record Attendance

Next year's tournament is set for March 5-18 at the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens.

Record crowds attened the 2011 BNP Paribas Open, cementing the event's spot as the fifth most-attended tennis tournament in the world.

Some 350,086 people bought tickets this year, up from more than 339,000 last year, according to event spokesman Matt Van Tuinen.

The event drew the sport's top players, including Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Caroline Wozniacki and Maria Sharapova.
