BNP Paribas Open to Kids This Saturday

The BNP Paribas Open will hold its annual Kids Day this Saturday in Indian Wells.

The BNP Paribas Open will be all about the kids this Saturday at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Kid's Day, geared toward children in first through eighth grades, is free and there's no charge for parking either. The event runs from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Among the highlights, interactive games including a fastest serve cage and champion of the court, and some top pros will stage an exhibition.

Saturday is also the finals for the BNP Paribas Open pre-qualifying tournament.

1–2:45 p.m.: Interactive games and activities including:  10 and Under Tennis sponsored by Head Penn Racquet Sports, beat the pro, champion of the court, survivor tennis, face painting, climbing wall and more.  Come test how fast your serve is at the Emirates Fast Serve Cage. Games and activities will take place on Courts 13 through 20 and throughout the grounds at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

1–2:45 p.m.: Harper for Kids tennis reading center, located at the Stadium Plaza, to learn life skills and success based on UCLA’s Coach John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success and award-winning children’s book “Inch and Miles: The Journey to Success” with former WTA pro Peanut Louie Harper. 

1–2:45 p.m.: Competition among 16 Elementary Schools  of the Desert Sands Unified School District using the 10 and Under Tennis format will be taking place at Stadiums 7, 8 and Courts 9 through 12. 

1–2:45 p.m.: Jam out to some live music featuring ONE11. These rising local musicians make a rock-solid energy statement with their fresh sound. KPLM Van will play today’s hottest country music, talk to fans and give away prizes. 

3–4 p.m.: BNP Paribas Open Kids’ Day Stadium Show – featuring ATP and WTA pros in Stadium 3.
