On March 19th, more than 70 businesses and non profit organizations will participate in the Area Chamber’s Shop Local EXPO held at Westfield Palm Desert. Early on that Saturday morning, the crowd of businesspeople will set up their booths and meet and greet until the mall doors open at 10am then things really get busy from 11am-3pm when the mall is at its busiest. About 20,000 people will be at Westfield that day, shopping the stores, talking with exhibitors and filling their canvas bags with goodies, coupons and discounts collected from the participating Business Booths. In all, we again expect to have a successful event with 80 booths. (That is chamber speak for sold out.)

- The Shop Local Theme - to educate, inform and remind the public and businesses to SHOP LOCAL; Attendees are encouraged to bring their own canvas bags
- One plant will be on each table top, courtesy of Inside Plants, to bring home a more environmentally friendly concept of local = environmentally friendly = green
- $1,000 Giveaway! The first 100 patrons will receive a $10 gift card to Westfield
- Exhibitors Only Mixer from 9am -10am in the food court, sponsored by Westfield
- Additional advertising sponsors to enhance coverage & boost attendance for another packed event
