Shop Local EXPO in Westfield

Rewards for Shopping Local at Upcoming EXPO

The Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce announced the 14th annual Shop Local EXPO at Westfield which will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 10am to 2pm. The EXPO gives local businesses an opportunity to become more involved in the community by having a booth, showing off their services, products or wares, meeting the people face-to-face and rewarding them for choosing local by offering giveaways, coupons, Groupon type deals and other deep discounts. Space on upper and lower levels of the mall will fit about 75 booths total. Businesses also have the opportunity to double their booth space or order a booth with an electrical outlet. Food booths are free.

Locals, visitors and families are expected to fill the mall and meet merchants and perhaps this is their opportunity to save some money and leave with business cards and giveaways. Westfield Palm Desert usually sees about 29,000 people walk through on a Saturday in spring. We hope to have even more on a special event day such as this.

“The goal is to celebrate our area businesses, get the community excited about shopping local and reward them for doing it. Everyone likes the idea of saving
money; the EXPO brings 75 ways to save, be involved in a charity, learn about a new class, find out who offers insurance or tax services and a reasonable rate, for example, and much more”.
– Barbara deBoom, Palm Desert
Chamber of Commerce President/CEO

Interested exhibitors will find registration materials online: www.pdacc.org or contact Katie Slimko, VP member services at Katie@pdacc.org
