Happy Birthday Bob Hope: Tix On Sale for 2014 Humana Challenge This Week

Tickets will be sold at a discount for what would have been Hope's 110th birthday beginning Wednesday.

Weekly tickets for the 2014 Humana Challenge golf tournament will go on sale Wednesday, which would have been Bob Hope's 110th birthday.

Tickets will be sold at a discount for Hope's birthday --  $55 -- via www.humanachallenge.com. The Humana Challenge, scheduled for Jan. 16-19, will celebrate its 55th anniversary next year, according to tournament officials.

Grounds tickets are good Wednesday through Sunday and will be sold for $55 through June 16. One-day tickets, which will go on sale in August, are $30 each.

"We're pleased to give our fans the chance to purchase their Humana Challenge tickets early and at this very special price. We hope they'll make plans to attend next year's event the entire week, and save money in the process," Humana Challenge Executive Director and CEO Bob Marra said.

Humana, a health insurance provider based in Kentucky, sponsors the tournament -- called the Bob Hope Classic from 1965 to 2011 -- with the Clinton Foundation. The tournament raises money for Coachella Valley charities, primarily Eisenhower Medical Center. The tournament is held at PGA West's Palmer and Nicklaus private courses and La Quinta Country Club, and the field includes PGA Tour professionals and amateurs.

Hope, a Palm Springs resident who regularly played in the tournament, died in 2003.

Pro-Am positions and hospitality packages are on sale online or by calling (760) 346-8184.
