High School Summer Basketball Begins

Palm Desert, and a dozen other high schools will test their mettle during summer league basketball at College of the Desert.

Palm Desert High's boys and girls basketball teams are ready for the start of summer league play tonight in Palm Desert.

A total of 13 teams are taking part, including Xavier, Desert Christian, Palm and La Quinta. 

The girls will play on Monday and Wednesday nights from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (no games July 4th). The boys will play on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Games will take place in the COD gymnasium starting tonight, and continuing through July 9.

All games can be seen live on Facebook; just “like” COD Sports on Facebook and view all games on UStream.

I…Read More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Totally agree. This is just the beginning of a gun grab. All it will accomplish is further…Read More restrictions on law abiding citizens. Chicago is a perfect example. Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
