Kraft Nabisco Lineup Announced

The tournament is scheduled for April 1 through 7 in Rancho Mirage.

Nine of the world's top amateur and college female golfers will participate in the Kraft Nabisco Championship, tournament officials announced Thursday.

Top-ranked amateur Lydia Ko, No. 4-ranked Georgia Hall and Alison Lee of Valencia are among the competitors in the tournament, scheduled for April 1 to 7 at Mission Hills Golf Club in Rancho Mirage, according to tournament spokesman Brian Robin.

Doris Chen, Lindy Duncan, Camilla Hedberg, Isabelle Lendl, Stephanie Meadow and Ashlan Ramsey are among the other competitors.

"These young players have grown up watching the winners make the iconic leap into Poppie's Pond and it is a thrill for them to be able to follow in their heroes' footsteps," said Tournament Director Gabe Codding.

World Golf Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam will host the tournament's celebrity pro-am. Sorenstam is three-time winner of the Kraft Nabisco, the LPGA's first major tournament of the year.

The celebrity field includes Ray Romano, Craig T. Nelson, Kevin Nealon, Dennis Haysbert, Thomas Gibson, Joe Mantegna, Cheech Marin, Alice Cooper, Joe Theismann, Scott Wolf and Ron Perlman.

Tickets are $15 for the celebrity pro-am and $25 for any one-day ticket - - valid Thursday to Sunday -- and $225 for a weeklong pass, which includes valet parking. Tickets for the 18th Green Suites, which include private seating, food, drinks and parking, start at $180.

For tickets, call (760) 324-4546 or go to www.kncgolf.com.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Dorothy you actually believe criminals can't get guns without a background check. Wow are youRead More naive. Just because YOU don't understand why some people want a particular weapon...does not mean you can impose your ownership standards on someone else. Suppose I suggest you don't need the particular car you drive or the particlar beverage you drink? I see you are opposed to hunting. How do you feel about abortion? Typical liberal double standard at play here??

Totally agree. This is just the beginning of a gun grab. All it will accomplish is furtherRead More restrictions on law abiding citizens. Chicago is a perfect example. Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
