Local Man to Captain U.S. International Tennis Team

James Nelson to lead the US 75-and-over team in Croatia

A Palm Desert man has been tabbed to represent the United States in international tennis team competitions in Croatia.

Palm Desert's James Nelson is the team captain for the Bitsy Grant Cup, a men's 75-and-over team competition.

The cup is named after Byron "Bitsy" Grant Jr., an American who played international tennis in the 1930s.  At 5 feet 4 inches and 120 lbs, Grant was the smallest American man to win a championship on the international tennis circuit.

I…Read More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Totally agree. This is just the beginning of a gun grab. All it will accomplish is further…Read More restrictions on law abiding citizens. Chicago is a perfect example. Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
