Palm Desert Golf Tourney to Benefit Local Cancer Center; Players Sought

The March 29 tournament at the Oasis Country Club supports the Arnold Palmer Prostate Cancer Center at Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center.

Registration is open for the fourth annual Art Bowman Memorial Golf Tournament in Palm Desert, which benefits support and outreach programs for a local cancer center.

The March 29 tournament at the Oasis Country Club supports the Arnold Palmer Prostate Cancer Center at Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center.

Bowman was an original homeowner at the country club and founder of its Men's Golf Club. He died of prostate cancer two years after the tournament started.

The tournament will be played in a four-person shamble format and feature contests and prizes. The tournament will be followed by lunch, a raffle and silent auction.

"This day of golf is not only an enjoyable annual event for our members and guests, but it also supports an important local resource," said Paul Rustigan, president of the Oasis Men's Golf Club. "Last year we raised more than $9,000 and our goal is to surpass that this year."
