Palm Desert HS, Three Others From Desert Valley League in CIF Dual Meet Championship
League champion La Quinta, Palm Desert, Coachella Valley and Palm Springs High Schools will compete for CIF Division 2 title.
The strength of the wrestling programs in the desert came to the forefront Thursday, as four schools from the Desert Valley League will compete for the CIF Division 2 Dual Meet title Saturday at Moorpark High School.
But don't think that any of the four teams has an easy path to the finals, as the bracket is loaded with top teams and Desert Valley League teams will meet three of the top four seeds in the first round.
Palm Desert will face No. 1 seed Covina Northview, the Valle Vista League champion, in the first round.

Palm Springs, also an at-large selection, will meet second-seeded Anaheim Servite, while Coachella Valley faces No. 4 seed Santa Ana in the first round.
Desert Valley champion La Quinta was seeded third in the Division 2 bracket and will meet Hacienda Heights Wilson High in its first match of the day.

Weigh-ins begin at 9 a.m. with the first matches starting at 11 a.m. CIF Individual Meet Finals is Feb. 18-19 at several sites throughout the Southern Section.
