WBO Investigating Bradley Win

The WBO is responding to requests to look into local boxer Tim Bradley's title win Saturday over Manny Pacquiao .

The World Boxing Organization announced today that a committee will review the welterweight title fight between defending champion Manny Pacquiao and Coachella Valley native Timothy Bradley Jr. that ended in a controversial win for Bradley last Saturday.

WBO President Francisco Valcarcel said in a statement that the organization's championship committee will meet soon with five international judges to evaluate film of the match and "make its recommendation according to
the rules.''

The fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas ended in a split decision in favor of Bradley, and promoter Bob Arum soon called for an investigation. One judge scored the fight for Pacquiao and two for Bradley.

"I want to clarify that in no way this says that we are doubting the capacity of these judges, which we consider as honest and competent judges,'' Valcarcel said in his statement.

Cathedral City has scheduled a rally Saturday night to celebrate Bradley's win. The fighter was born in Cathedral City and graduated from Cathedral City High School.
