Riverside County is extending the heat warnings for cities in the Coachella Valley, and eastern Riverside County. The heat warnings are posted despite lower than average temperatures across the Coachella Valley.
Cool centers in the affected areas will be open and temperatures are expected to remain over 97 degrees for the next seven days.
Individuals susceptible to heat, such as the elderly and families with young children, are encouraged to visit a cool center during extended periods of high-heat days. Cool Centers will provide snacks and water, in addition to activities and resource information.
