Palm Springs Tram Celebrates its 50th Anniversary

The location is popular with nature lovers from around Southern California.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will offer $50 summer passes in honor of its 50th anniversary, a tram spokeswoman said today.

The passes, priced at $50 for adults and seniors and $25 for children ages 3 to 12, will be available starting April 8, and are valid from that day through Aug. 9.

Pass holders get unlimited tram rides, and 10 percent off other tram admissions and both restaurants, spokeswoman Lena Zimmerschied said.

This weekend, the tram's Mountain Station will host an Easter sunrise service at 5:45 a.m., and breakfast and Easter dinner will be offered at the Pines Cafe.

For information, call (760) 3251391 or go to www.pstramway.com. Summer passes will be sold at the Valley Station at 1 Tram Way or online at www.coolsummerpass.com.
