Water District Hosting Free Summer Workshop for Teachers

Western Municipal Water District is hosting its first annual Summer Teachers' Workshop, to be held July 26 in Riverside.

Coachella Valley educators are invited to "have some fun and learn about water" by attending Western Municipal Water District's first annual Summer Teachers' Workshop.

The free afternoon workshop will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 26 at 14205 Meridian Parkway, Riverside. All workshop topics tie in with California State Standards, according to a WMWD news release.

"Get the first look at Western’s NEW educational resources, meet with subject matter experts in the education and water fields, and learn innovative ways to teach your students about water and network with fellow teachers. Workshop topics include: local watershed, water resources, water cycle, groundwater and water-wise use," the news release stated.

Lunch will be provided and each attendee will receive a goody bag of items to use in the classroom.

A complimentary Kids' Korner featuring water education activities will be available for children from 4 to 10 years old while their parents attend the workshop.
