Chili...What's Your Secret???

What's your secret ingredient for chili? I'll be sharing them with the Palm Springs Women's Club this Saturday.

As the official emcee of this coming Saturdays Historic Palm Springs Women's Club Chili Cook-Off in Palm Springs, it is my duty to find out what makes your chili the BEST!

Let's face it, everyone says they make the best chili. Send an email to travelershotline@aol.com  or comment on this post, telling me your secret ingredient. One lucky entrant will win a FREE pint of ice cream from Ben & Jerry's at the River, and I will be reading your ingredients to the crowd...

The event is open to the public and begins at 1 p.m. ..... I  love Chili!!!!!!!!!

I make two kinds of chili. One is super easy and my secret ingredient is the red salsa at Trader Joe's. My other recipe calls for chipotle.

I like to use cumin in my chili because it gives a warm flavor without scaring off those that don't like it super spicy.

How did it go?

Marinate the beef in Jack Daniel;s overnight before cooking. Also soak the beans overnight and include a carrot. Don't use or eat the carrot afterwards as it works to eliminate the gaseous eliminates of the beans.

@B.K.-- Thank you for your help with the community :) I have a great respect for all teachers!

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.
