First impressions have a big impact on me. I have covered the former Bob Hope Classic since all four presidents were here and played in the event.
I've seen the ups and for the past several years the downs, not because of venues, these are spectacular, but the economy, format, politics and such.
Frankly this tournament was almost a bygone event for the desert.

Humana stepped in wholeheartedly and it shows.
They have already built a park for children, have the Military Outpost for Active Servicemen and the list goes on and on.

The grounds look amazing, and there is something for everyone. With all due respect, and Humana will chuckle about this in the future, they are learning about the game of golf, the demands of the players and galleries, golf etiquette and more. But hey, instead of ignoring, they are embracing. Bob Hope's legacy is remembered in many ways, and the new message of health and wellness is promoted in many ways ... a definite win for everyone.
So if you've never been to a golf tournament or health and wellness event, just think you are getting two for one at a beautiful venue, with a lot of very nice people.
