CHP To Collect Toys At Walgreens Tuesday

All toys collected will be given to children in the Coachella Valley on or before Christmas day, CHP Officer Joe Zagorski said.

The California Highway Patrol will collect new and unwrapped toys for needy youngsters at a store in Palm Desert tomorrow.

The officers will be at 44840 Monterey Ave. from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday for the CHP's "ChiPs for Kids'' drive.

"This is the 13th year the CHP has held the CHiPs for Kids collection campaign and we need every valley resident's help to give so many needy children something special this Christmas,'' Zagorski said.

Donors can also drop off toys through Sunday at other Coachella Valley Walgreens stores, Mattress Showroom stores, Starbucks shops or Red Robin restaurants; the studios of KESQ-TV Channel 3 in Palm Desert or KPLM-FM (106.1) in Palm Springs, or the CHP's Indio area office, 79650 Varner Road.
