Fourteen Coachella Valley men will go on the auction block later this week to help out battered women.
The fourth annual Desert Charity Bachelor Auction will kick off Fashion Week El Paseo on March 17 with the goal of raising $100,000 to benefit Shelter From The Storm.
Last year, the auction raised $65,000, according to Carissa Marlo, a spokeswoman for the event.
“Not only will each Bachelor offer an outstanding package of goodies, such as dinner at the Desert’s finest restaurants, cosmetic enhancements, diamond jewelry and golf packages, but some gal may just meet the man of her dreams,” said Diana Marlo, the event's chair.
In 2009, the first annual Desert Charity Bachelor Auction introduced Bachelor Trent and committee member Graison to each other and they are now married in Vancouver, Canada, Marlo said.
Hundreds of women will have a chance to meet the bachelors at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Each participating bachelor will have a unique theme for their package ranging from Hollywood makeovers to a weekend in New York City.
