Riverside County Fire Department Recruiting for Volunteer Positions

The Riverside County Fire Department is now accepting applications for its volunteer reserve program, something it only does twice a year.

According to Spokeswoman Jody Hagemann, the department is accepting applications through the month of June and won't accept them again until sometime in the fall.

"The Riverside County Fire Department's Volunteer Reserve Firefighter Program provides several avenues for Volunteer's to provide emergency assistance to our community," an announcement from the department reads.

Hagemann tells Patch the department is looking for volunteers for all sorts of roles, including reserve firefighters, reserve chaplains, reserve mobile emergency operations communications techs, and even reserve fire photographers.

The department will fill the positions as they become available, and there's no cap on how many applications they'll accept, Hagemann said.
