Turkeys Needed At Martha's Village & Kitchen
The nonprofit is short of its goal to provide Thanksgiving for 700 families.
Martha's Village & Kitchen in nearby Indio put out a call Monday for help collecting enough turkeys to feed families this Thanksgiving.
"We will need 100 turkeys to serve the public and our residents at lunch and dinner, and another 600 turkeys for the food baskets we hope to provide to the community this year,'' said Blair Amidei, an organizer of the food drive.
Donations can be dropped off at 83-791 Date Avenue, Indio. For larger quantities of food, donors are asked to call 760.347.4741 ext. 383 to arrange for a pick up.
