Excessive Heat Warning Continues for Palm Desert

The Independence week forecast indicates it will be around 114 degrees in Palm Desert on July 4.

An excessive heat warning is in effect for the fourth consecutive day Monday throughout Riverside County and in Palm Desert.

"Hot weather will continue across the inland areas through (today) under a strong ridge of high pressure," according to the National Weather Service. "Some high clouds may moderate temperatures a bit, but it will still be dangerously hot."

The agency also said the Coachella Valley will experience higher humidity Monday, making it even more uncomfortable as temperatures soar well into the triple digits.
