Winds gusting 50 to 60 miles per hour forced the closure of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway on Monday, a spokeswoman for the attraction said.
A maximum gust of 75 mph had been recorded at the Mountain Station as of 10:40 a.m. Oct. 28, according to the tram's weather page.
A high wind warning was in effect through 8 a.m. Tuesday for strong winds in the mountains and desert areas, including the Coachella Valley, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain and snow at higher elevations were also in the forecast, according to the Weather Service.
