A wind advisory has been issued for the Coachella Valley from 10 p.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Sunday, and red flag conditions were forecast for areas further west, including the San Gorgonio Pass.
The Southern California Weather Authority issued an updated advisory for moderate to strong Santa Ana winds this weekend.
Gusty winds were expected in the mountains, foothills and inland valleys from late Dec. 13 to sundown Dec. 15, according to the National Weather Service.
Coachella Valley residents can anticipate northeast winds increasing to between 20 and 30 miles per hour, with gusts to 65 mph in some locations, according to the Weather Service.
