I've stayed at many Kimptons hotels--Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, and New York.…Read More Each had a unique feel and were well maintained. They offer evening wine receptions and do not charge for pets----they even offer a pet welcome gift upon arrival. Kimpton is a great hotel chain and I'm excited they will be in Palm Springs.

And, the demographic of visitors/tourists is such that they do NOT come here to shop - but to relax by the pool. "The Millennials" - the largest generation in America - do NOT buy Jos. A. Bank old man business world rich man fashions - they are GAP - Banana Republic - Abercrombie - Lucky Brand Jeans - consumers. Don't think the snowbirds are coming to the DESERT to buy a suit, either. If buying a suit was such a demand here, then I'm sure that Saks Fifth Avenue ( in The Gardens At El Paseo ) Men's Department would satisfy the most "discriminating" of tastes. Besides that, we already have over 12 stores that already carry "dress" wear for men. And just a partial list of ONLY Palm Desert stores with men's clothing include:
GAP, Banana Republic, Abercrombie, Lucky Brand Jeans, Brooks Brothers, Slack Shoppe, Macy's, Casual Male XL, Blazers, Men's Wearhouse, Mister Marcus, as well as Kohl's, JCPenny, Old Navy, Hot Topic, Zumiez, and more.
Any guesses how long it will take Jos. A. Bank to close? Rots o Ruck.

If you have a small gas tank (mine holds 10 gallons when completely empty), avoid Arco if you're concerned about the price. They charge 45¢ to use a debit card, which adds 4.5¢ to every gallon IF you're on empty. I go to Costco and don't mind waiting in line.
