Robber Hits Up Palm Desert Bank, Makes Off With Cash

Police are still looking for the suspect.

A man who passed a note to a teller at a Palm Desert bank Saturday made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said.

The suspect entered the First Bank branch in the 73000 block of Highway 111 at 11:50 a.m. and fled in an unknown vehicle, according to Sgt. Ken Black of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The man was described as white, 25-30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 190 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt, black baseball cap and dark sunglasses.

Anyone with information about the robbery was urged to contact Investigator Jennifer Higgins at the sheriff's Palm Desert Station by calling (760) 836-1600. Anonymous tips can be left by calling Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-STOP.
